COMPANY BACKGROUND
Pridin Group was established in 2014, starting out as an electrical contractor primarily serving the City of Johannesburg. During its early days, the company focused on providing electrical contracting services, building a foundation of expertise and reliability within the municipal infrastructure sector.
In 2015, Pridin expanded its scope by venturing into the telecommunications industry. This was a significant shift as the company took on Fibre to Home (FTTH) projects, which involved the installation of fiber optic cables directly to residential homes, thereby improving internet connectivity and communication. Alongside this, Pridin also engaged in civil works related to telecommunications infrastructure - such as trenching for cable laying, road drilling, and surveying activities, which are essential for preparing and securing the physical pathways for fiber optic networks.
The following year, in 2016, Pridin further broadened its telecommunications portfolio by incorporating wireless technology projects. The company collaborated with Ericsson,a leading name in telecommunications equipment to undertake the installation and upgrading of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) sites. These sites are essential for cellular networks, enabling mobile communication by connecting mobile devices to the network. This partnership allowed Pridin to gain valuable experience and technical skills in wireless network infrastructure.
Building on this momentum, Pridin later extended its wireless technology services to include projects with Huawei, another significant player in the telecommunications industry. This expansion not only involved similar installation and upgrade work on wireless sites but also introduced Pridin to additional specialized areas such as Radio Frequency (RF) corrective and preventative site maintenance. These maintenance services are crucial for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of wireless network sites by addressing technical issues proactively and reactively. Furthermore, Pridin began handling alarm clearance tasks, which involve monitoring and resolving alarms triggered by network equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
Overall, since its inception in 2014, Pridin has evolved from a focused electrical contractor into a versatile telecommunications service provider. Its growth reflects a strategic expansion from electrical contracting into fiber optic and wireless telecommunications infrastructure, supported by partnerships with industry leaders and an increasing range of technical services covering installation, maintenance, and network optimization. This evolution positions Pridin as a comprehensive contractor capable of supporting complex telecommunications projects across multiple technologies and disciplines.
